What to buy for your man though… another challenge. Here is just a list of ideas (from trial and error of course) to help make shopping for him a little less painful during the holidays.

  1. Office Decor – It may seem lame getting something else to remind him of work, but when he’s working, it always helps brighten his day to have the desk/office area a little decorative with something from his significant other such as his own personal business card holder or picture frame to match the color/theme of his office without appearing too “loud”. For example, a few years ago, I bought my husband a desk size picture frame that lies flat on his desk with eight different pictures of family/friends inside it to see whenever he looks down at the keyboard. The price… $20 dollars at Office Depot. Just search around and you may get some inspirational ideas that are both personal and affordable.
  2. Books – If your sweety likes to read, buy him a book(s) by his favorite author or maybe books relating to some of his favorite hobbies whether it’s sports, business, art, music, etc. Books are always a great gift that can help take his mind off of the every day stresses from work, then maybe spend a little time with you.
  3. Mini-Bar – Whether he works remote or at the office, unwinding the evening at home to a drink with his wife/girlfriend is always a good way to change his mood. Just by a bottle of his favorite wine and a couple glasses to match, then chat away the evening. Things Remembered is always a great place to look for glass wear at a reasonable price. The glasses and wine combined… $50-$80 dollars.
  4. Silver – No watches required in this department with iPhones and everything digital. If he likes wearing jewelry, buy him a necklace or bracelet to wear when you go out for the evening. It doesn’t need to be fancy with lettering, just a simple necklace or bracelet from your local jeweler. You can usually find a good quality piece for anywhere from $20-$80 dollars.
  5. Gift Card(s) – Some may say this is impersonal, which it may come across as so, but you can never go wrong doing this. Even if it’s a gift card to Starbucks, Home Depot, or Sea’s Candy, he’ll no you’re thinking of what he likes and wants… and he gets to pick it out himself. Just leave it in as a stocking stuffer with his favorite candy or wrap it in a small box. This past Christmas, we bought some of our close friends a gift card to their favorite restaurant and they loved it. You can’t go wrong, it’s stress free, and you pick the price.
